Super K9 Dog Of The Week: June 13-19, 2005

"Tyler"

Tyler is a 10 year old Piebald Dachshund. I got him when he was 8 weeks old. I chose him out of a litter of 5 because he has a white star on his chest and a red nose and toe-nails! Now he is getting older and getting gray, but he still has the cutest little face. Tyler loves to lay in the sun, chase his big red ball out in the yard, go fishing with his Dad and sleep under his baby blanket. When my sisters Dachshund had her puppies, he would mother them by licking their faces and letting them curl up with him to sleep, giving MOM a rest and he wasn't the Father! I have raised two of those puppies and he still continues to clean their faces everyday, with nothing expected in return.

He is one fantastic dog, he loves every person he meets, curls up in my lap when I need some loving, and will give me kisses on command! If I could have a real life teddy bear, he would be it! Teddy bears always make you smile, and to me that is my Tyler...he always makes me smile! Being 10 years old has not slowed him down at all. He still chases me around the kitchen table and wrestles with his two house mates. Tyler is the star in my sky, lighting me up even on the darkest of days! I could never love him enough for what he does for me!
